Question 1

How do I rent a scooter, moto, or ATV in Folegandros?

Accepted Answer

Simply submit a request via our booking form or contact us directly on WhatsApp/Phone at +30 694 783 1208. We will confirm availability and pricing within a few hours.

Question 2

What driver's license do I need to rent a moto or scooter?

Accepted Answer

For 50cc scooters, a category AM or B (car) license is required (depending on national conversion rules). For 125cc-200cc scooters, a category A1 or A2 motorcycle license is legally required. For larger motorbikes, a category A license is mandatory. A standard car license does NOT allow you to drive a 125cc scooter in Greece.

Question 3

What license is required to rent an ATV / quad bike?

Accepted Answer

You must hold a valid standard passenger car license (category B). Motorcycle licenses are not legally valid for operating four-wheeled quadricycles in Greece.

Question 4

Is it mandatory to wear a helmet for scooters and ATVs?

Accepted Answer

Yes, wearing a helmet is strictly mandatory under Greek law for both the driver and the passenger, on all scooters, motos, and ATVs. We provide clean, certified helmets for free.

Question 5

Do you deliver vehicles to the Folegandros port or my hotel?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we offer a 100% free delivery and collection service directly at Karavostasi Port upon your ferry arrival, as well as to any hotel, apartment, or villa in Folegandros.

Question 6

Can I drive the rental scooter or ATV off-road?

Accepted Answer

No. Driving on sandy beaches, dunes, or narrow pedestrian hiking trails is strictly prohibited. Doing so voids all insurance coverage, and the driver will be held personally liable for any damages.

Question 7

Is it safe to drive a scooter in Folegandros?

Accepted Answer

The island's paved roads are narrow, winding, and feature steep drops, with strong summer winds (Meltemi). For inexperienced riders or those traveling with a passenger, a 4x4 ATV is much more stable, easier to handle, and safer.

Question 8

Where can I park in Chora Folegandros?

Accepted Answer

The historic Chora is entirely pedestrianized and off-limits to vehicles. Free municipal parking lots are located right at the entrance of the village where you must park your scooter, moto, or ATV.

Question 9

How do I reach remote beaches like Katergo and Livadaki?

Accepted Answer

You can drive your vehicle to the nearest road-end or trailhead and then hike (about 30-45 minutes) or take a local taxi boat from Karavostasi Port (to Katergo) or from Angali Beach (to Livadaki).

Question 10

Do I need to book my rental vehicle in Folegandros in advance?

Accepted Answer

Yes, Folegandros is a small island with limited rental fleets. We strongly recommend reserving your scooter, moto, or ATV well in advance, especially if you plan to visit during July and August.
