For 50cc scooters, a category AM or B (car) license is required (depending on national conversion rules). For 125cc-200cc scooters, a category A1 or A2 motorcycle license is legally required. For larger motorbikes, a category A license is mandatory. A standard car license does NOT allow you to drive a 125cc scooter in Greece.

You must hold a valid standard passenger car license (category B). Motorcycle licenses are not legally valid for operating four-wheeled quadricycles in Greece.

Yes, wearing a helmet is strictly mandatory under Greek law for both the driver and the passenger, on all scooters, motos, and ATVs. We provide clean, certified helmets for free.

No. Driving on sandy beaches, dunes, or narrow pedestrian hiking trails is strictly prohibited. Doing so voids all insurance coverage, and the driver will be held personally liable for any damages.

The island's paved roads are narrow, winding, and feature steep drops, with strong summer winds (Meltemi). For inexperienced riders or those traveling with a passenger, a 4x4 ATV is much more stable, easier to handle, and safer.

The historic Chora is entirely pedestrianized and off-limits to vehicles. Free municipal parking lots are located right at the entrance of the village where you must park your scooter, moto, or ATV.

You can drive your vehicle to the nearest road-end or trailhead and then hike (about 30-45 minutes) or take a local taxi boat from Karavostasi Port (to Katergo) or from Angali Beach (to Livadaki).

Yes, Folegandros is a small island with limited rental fleets. We strongly recommend reserving your scooter, moto, or ATV well in advance, especially if you plan to visit during July and August.
